1What is Natina?
Natina Solution is an environmentally-safe and long-lasting color solution for rock, concrete and galvanized steel. Natina naturally reacts with each of these materials, which creates a maintenance-free earthy, brown finish. Application is completed to your commercial and industrial construction project by our professionally trained team without any VOCs.
2How long does Natina last?
Natina will last as long as the galvanized layer is intact, which is many years, without fading, cracking or peeling.
3What type of projects does Natina work on?
4What color does Natina create on galvanized metal or steel?
Natina Steel Solution creates a varied and deep brown finish on galvanized steel. This color is primarily dark brown with medium brown hues throughout. Our steel finish is long-lasting, affordable and low to no maintenance.
5What are the brown colors Natina creates on rock and concrete?
Natina Rock and Concrete Solution create an array of earthy brown hues that can range from tan to mahogany based on the formula amount. Our rock and concrete finish is long-lasting, affordable and low to no maintenance.
6How does Natina differ from a paint, pigment or stain?
Natina is a reactive color treatment and does not contain any harsh or toxic resins or carriers found in paints, pigments or stains. Natina is naturally occurring and water-based. Our solutions include carefully selected trace elements that are found in nature. When combined with heat and sunlight, these elements cause a natural reaction in rock, concrete, and galvanized steel to create earthy, brown hues. Natina will last for decades without fading and does not require reapplication like a paint, stain or traditional pigment-based colorant.
7What surface can Natina be used on?
Natina is primarily used on rock, concrete and galvanized metal or steel surfaces and hardware.
8Are contractors allowed to apply Natina Steel Solution?
Typically Natina applies all of our solutions at our facility. In very rare cases, we may certify a contractor to apply Natina for a specific project. You must have written approval from Natina to apply the solutions. The certification is only valid for the project(s) noted in the certification and additional approval is required for a different project.
9Does Natina alter or damage the galvanized layer?
Natina Steel Solution maintains the protective characteristics of galvanized steel and does not change the layer.
10How is Natina applied?
Natina is for professional use only and is applied by our team to ensure proper color and results are achieved.
11Is Natina safe?
Yes, Natina is a natural product and has been through rigorous environmental testing. Natina is safe to handle and has no VOCs. We recommend using rubber gloves and wearing eye protection when mixing or handling because it can discolor skin and clothing.
12Is Natina safe to use around plants, water and surrounding wildlife?
Yes, Natina is safe to use around plants and wildlife. It can improve soil nutrient value which benefits surrounding plants, wildlife and aquatic plants.
13How does Natina differ from weathering steel?
There are several differences between the two. Natina has natural, mottled brown hues, whereas weathered steel has a uniform, often reddish, color. Also, the lifetime costs are lower since Natina plus hot-dip galvanized metals have strong corrosion protection opposed to weathering steel's continued rusting. Finally Natina does not drip, discolor or bleed on surfaces nearly as much as weathering steel.
