The State of New Mexico’s Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Program used Natina Steel Solution to color the wire mesh used on the Lake Valley Mine Safeguard Project. The mesh manufacturer offered to powder coat the mesh but indicated that the color would only last for 5 years before fading. Since Natina contains no color pigments and instead derives its color from the galvanization layer, the rustic brown finish lasts for years without fading from sun exposure. So, the AML Program opted to use Natina and they are amazed by how well it matches the surrounding terrain.
