We mostly use Natina for staining concrete, but it looks great on galvanized metals too. Natina has a wonderful brown hue spectrum for our concrete project’s desert palette. These solutions help to blend bland gray concrete, which is an eyesore, into our desert landscape for a more natural aesthetic. Natina is inexpensive compared to integral colored concrete, helps us get the perfect color we want every time, and we know it will save the project money. Natina treatment is easy to apply and low maintenance compared to other staining products. I was on site yesterday having Natina treatment applied for a reservation needing to be re-naturalized. Aesthetics are paramount, and the reservation wanted to mix in some brighter colors along with Natina. Our contractor praised Natina because of how easy it was for their crew to apply, compared to the more colorful aspects that have been a pain in his side to get right. Being environmentally friendly is another reason Natina Solutions are chosen over other products that are calked full of chemicals, VOC’s, and other environmentally unfriendly ingredients.

For our project in the Shoshone National Forest, there is a significant color reaction between the Natina Concrete Solution and the shotcrete wall (along with soil-nailing). In just over 2 weeks, the color treatment progress was extremely successful in mitigating the brighter gray surface. In our opinion, it better blends into the slope than the adjacent monotone single color block retaining wall. Natina Solutions plus material costs and two USFS salary days was very cost-effective and saved us time and money.

While excavating a custom hillside, we unearthed a lot of large rocks. Rather than hauling away, we used these rocks to backfill retaining walls. The rock below grade was a stark white and needed to blend in better. So after backfilling, I hired Natina to treat the rock for a darker, natural brown finish. Now the lighter excavated rock matched the exposed rock. Using Natina helped the project save money and time by using the existing rock, plus it was eco-friendly since diesel trucks did not go back and forth hauling tons of rock. The rock is native to the mountain, so why haul it away and dump it somewhere else? We are pleased with how the project looks, and the agency loved it. The agency is having others specify Natina for their excavated rock projects and showing this project as an example. I highly recommend Natina for rock staining needs you might have.

I am a landscape architect and used more than a thousand split-face concrete retaining wall blocks to build terraced planting beds. To reduce the walls’ visual impact, I was going to use integral colored concrete block, but the samples looked too uniform, like they had been painted. On top of that, the available colors contrasted with the local soil and rock on the slope below the walls. I had used Natina successfully on flatwork in previous projects, so I experimented with it on sample blocks. I discovered that it changed the plain, gray concrete to a warm, brown finish with subtle textural variations due to the split-face surface variations. This was exactly the look I was after. The walls blended very well with the native landscape and soil color. The color has held up well and I am very happy with the results.
