Background:
A “wild” project emerged for Natina to partner with a zoo. The objective was to take the zoo’s enclosure for tropical bears from glaring metal to “bearly” noticeable while ensuring the utmost safety for the animals, plants, and habitat.
Challenge:
The zoo required coloring the existing enclosure to improve the habitat and maintain the natural features for the bears and visitors alike. However, the color solution had to be USDA-compliant, natural, non-toxic, rust-free, and low maintenance. The product is needed to ensure the safety of both the bears and the plants within the habitat.
Natina’s Role:
Instead of weathering steel, vinyl, paint, or powder coating, the zoo chose and approved Natina because of its aesthetics and eco-friendly solution for the animals and plants. The Natina team applied our beautiful signature rustic brown finish to everything from galvanized chain-link fences and metal wire to hardware and components. Our role was to enhance the visual appeal of the metal enclosure surrounding the tropical bears so that visitors at the zoo could focus on the bears without any distracting glare from shiny metal.
Results:
Natina's color solution was successfully applied while ensuring the health and safety of the zoo's tropical bears. The Natina-treated enclosure also helps reduce the visual impact of the animal habitat so zoo visitors can better enjoy the exhibit. Natina’s involvement in this project is a testament to our commitment to being both an aesthetic and environmentally friendly choice.
